Amazing My Son Sanctuary

Hence, in a lush green forest are dozens of brick temples, towers built dating back to the 4th century. Back to the old days, My Son was the most typical Hindu temple complex in Southeast Asia. And the site played the role of the most holy place for the Cham people who lived in the central Vietnam coming to give offerings to Hindu Gods of Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Genesh… By the way, the Cham people prayed for their best wishes such as fertility, happiness, bumper crop, better climate…

First, the sanctuary of My Son was discovered by the French in 1885 and later the French scientists came to do a lot more research on the site. And they came to conclude that My Son was the most intact Hindu structure not only in Vietnam but also all over Southeast Asia. Especially, My Son reflected the culture exchange between many countries in the old times. For example, that similarity could be seen on Hindu temples in My Son with all floral carvings, human figures, animal scenes, pilasters, sandstone sculptures and so on. In the past, the French had divided My Son Sanctuary into many groups of A, A’, B, C, D, G, E, F and H; out of which the nicest areas of My Son at the moment are groups of B, C, D.

Next, we contiue walking across the stream and visit to group G on a little hill that was restored. Eventually, we will keep walking to visit 2 groups of E, F.

To conclude, what amazing My Son Sanctuary is with all Hindu temples, towers which are mostly complete even though after many years of wars and natural disaters. For this reason, we will admire skillful talent of the Cham people and respect to their efforts in building such an outstanding complex. By the way, we get in touch with beautiful surrounding nature and grab just brilliant pictures in the early morning before the crowd comes.
