Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival

Welcome to Vietnam, so our guide and driver from Premium Travel Vietnam will come to meet you up with the sign of the company and your name on it. We then transfer you to the hotel for check in. Relax after a long flight from New Zealand.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh city Tour

We will begin our Vietnam Travel Packages from New Zealand with Ho Chi Minh city’s sightseeings today.

We will be at the hotel lobby to pick up, taking you to visit Independence Palace, also known at the Reunification palace, was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace. Thus, this Independence palace is a well known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City. Later, we will continue to to tour some of beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Central Post Office. Following that is to pay a visit to the War Remnants Museum the museum where displays lots of pictures of the Indochina wars and army equipments from US.

Afterwards, we will head up to Ben Thanh market to see how Vietnamese market is. From here, you can bargain some price with the sellers and purchase some souvenirs for your friends and family.

We then head up to a local restaurant for you to taste some of typical Vietnamese foods.

In the afternoon, we will depart Saigon for Cu Chi tunnels – an amazing tunnel network built by Viet Cong guerilla in the Vietnam war.

Cu Chi Tunnels, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Sitting down for a while, you will watch documentary movie to know all history and the process of fighting to protect Cu Chi areas by Saigon people and how the people could survive in the harsh conditions of the war time. Then, spend your time to explore the remaining area of the tunnel systems which include some special living areas such as kitchens, bedrooms, and some martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers.

As soon as you finish, you can rethink about the war and how you can share your feeling with our fighting for independence and freedom. Enjoy some special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) before we head back to the hotel. Break time for relax.

Day 3: Mekong Delta Full Day

As the sun rises, our Vietnam Travel Packages from New Zealand continues with the full day trip to Mekong Delta a vast network of tunnels, canals and rivers as well as the “Rice Basket” for Vietnam.

We will come along the National Highway passing by scenic countryside landscapes and beautiful green rice fields of the village to reach My Tho city in the Mekong Delta. This trip gives you a fascinating insight into daily life of the Mekong Delta people.

At arriving in My Tho, we then visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank.

Proceeding our trip to Tortoise islet where we will have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals.

Following that is to enjoy some seasonal fruits and honey tea to listen to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by local artists.

Later on, we then tour a local family business to know how they make taste delicious coconut candy and to observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and village.

Finishing the day is to get on our car and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Da Nang Arrival

In the morning, we will meet and transfer you to airport for domestic flight to Da nang city. Meeting our guide and driver out here before we directly transfer you to hotel in Hoi An ancient town for check in. The rest of the day is on your own. You can spend night time walking around unique Hoi An ancient town and have a lovely dinner by The Hoai River.

Day 5: My Son – Hoi An

Continue our Vietnam Tours from New Zealand, we are then coming to explore the former Champa Holy Site – My Son Sanctuary.

Hence, My Son was the sacred site where the Cham people came to give lots of offerings to Hindu Gods. This is  a “must see” place while you are in Hoi An. So, you not only visit the very ancient Hindu temples but also admire the masterpiece as well as the talent, skill of Cham people to remember a lost glorious civilisation that had been in central Vietnam for so long.

Upon reaching My Son, we get golf cart transfer then start to wander around this site to pay a visit to groups of B, C, D, G, E, F. You will know more Cham culture.

At the end of the trip, we will take you to a performance house for you to enjoy Champa traditional show exposing all daily activities by the people. Later, we return to Hoi An for lunch.

Hoi An ancient town by night

In the afternoon, we will stroll around Hoi An ancient town. Thus, Hoi An is a special example of a traditional port city in Southeast Asia which has been well preserved.

Our Hoi An city tour will include a Chinese Assembly Hall, an Old Merchant House, Japanese Bridge and Hoi An market. During the tour, the guide will give you an overview about Hoi An’s architecture and people lifestyle today. He is knowledgeable enough  and willing to tell you anything about Hoi An.

Day 6: Cooking Class

As you know, Hoi An is the paradise for food lovers. Tourists come to this town not only sightseeing the culture but they also want to taste the local food. So, we give you a cooking class today.

Starting our tour to the local market to select ingredients then take boat to Red Bridge Cooking school. Right here, they will show you how to make Spring Rolls, Pancake, Fish Sauce, Fish in Claypot…

Enjoy lovely lunch by the Thu Bon river before we head back to the hotel.

Day 7: Hoi An – Hue

Today, we are heading to Hue ancient capital. On the way, we will drive through scenic Hai Van Pass for you to observe spectacular view of the surrounding areas. Stop at Lang Co for some photo shoots and find how the locals farm oysters on the Cau Hai lagoon.

We are then heading to Hue city. Upon reaching, we will tour Hue Imperial City – the center of culture and education in the 19th century of the Nguyen Dynasty. It was served as defensive system of the Nguyen royal family with three rampart circles from outside to inside: Hue Citadel, Hue Imperial city, Hue Forbidden city. We then wander and pay a visit to Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Royal Theatre, Dien Tho Palace…and we know about splendid time of Nguyen Dynasty.

The rest of the day is to go to the hotel for check in.

Day 8: Hue Sightseeing  

We keep on our journey in Hue with a private dragon boat to go along the Perfume River to visit the 400-year-old Thien Mu Pagoda (Heavenly Lady Pagoda) from 1601.

As you know, it is not only a pagoda but also a part of Hue UNESCO World Heritage. There are many stories and myths about pagoda from the locals in Kim Long village.

Following the day visit is to go to Tu Duc Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb. Accordingly, Tu  Duc Tomb is a very large place with all temples, buildings, pavillions, lakes that strongly follow Feng Sui concept from Oriental philosophy. Wandering around and the guide will tell you more interesting related stories to this Emperor.

Khai Dinh Mausoleum – Hue city

End the day by sightseeing Khai Dinh Tomb – one the most beautiful and amazing tombs of Nguyen Emperors in Hue built in 1931.

Day 9: Hue – Hanoi

The guide will meet you transferring you to Hue aiport for domestic flight to Hanoi. The guide and driver from PTV will meet you up and then transfer to hotel for check in.

Day 10: Hanoi City Tour

Tour guide pick you up at your hotel and then we start the trip to Tran Quoc Pagoda, a Buddhist relic and National Heritage lying on the West Lake. Continue to sightseeing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnam’s greatest father as well as his house – on – stilt.

Following is One Pillar Pagoda – designed in a lotus flower model, serves as a symbol of Hanoi.
Afterwards, we head up to the Temple of Literature built in 1070 dedicating to Confucius, sages and scholars. It was also the first university of Vietnam.

Have lunch at a local restaurant in Hanoi Old Quarter.

Then in the afternoon, we will tour Ethnology Museum to learn all about cultures of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam. The rest of the day is to Relax and be on your own.

Day 11: Hanoi – Halong Bay

We are meeting you up at the hotel lobby then transfer you to Halong Bay – one of the must-see site in Vietnam, one of seven new wonders of the world.

Upon reaching Halong Bay, we transfer you to a traditional boat then board on our cruise sailing into Halong Bay. In the afternoon, the Sun reflecting the color of water turning it into spectacular emerald blue water. At this time, you can do some swimming or kayak around the bay, enjoying some water sports to recover from a long day tour.

At night, you can join with some local activities such as squid fishing or simply have a wonderful dinner on board watching the panorama of Halong Bay.

Day 12: Halong Explore

We will begin the day of Vietnam Travel Packages from New Zealand with Tai Chi Lesson on board, enjoying your breakfast then we start our journey. Hence,  our cruise will take us to visit Rocky Dog (Cho Da), Fighting Cock (Ga Choi), Incense Burner Islet (Dinh Huong). Day 13: Relaxation Day

This is a full day on your own to explore Hanoi by yourself. If you want, let’s try some of Hanoi’s food.

Day 14: Departure Flight
