My Son Sanctuary and Marble Mountains Tour Program
To begin with, in the morning the guide and driver will come to pick you up at the hotel. And we will start my son sanctuary and marble mountains tour. Firstly, the French discovered My Son Sanctuary in 1885. Later, they had spent more time researching all about this site and come to conclude that My Son Sanctuary was the most typical and most valuable Hindu site not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia.
The sanctuary of My Son had many groups of A, A’, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and each group had a main temple of Kalan. This vital temple was built in the central of group and for use to worship a set of linga and yoni inside. The other ones around played different roles. At the moment, the most intact area of My Son are groups of B, C, D.
At arriving in My Son, the guide will briefly tell you history and culture of Cham people. Then follwing that, we will stroll around this lovely spot and visit groups of B, C, D first. So, we can feel and admire outstanding talent of Cham people in the old times. Although the temples were built thousands of years, they still stay strong with time and severe weather. To move on our tour, we then across stream to visit groups of G and then E and F. When you finish, we come out the same way and we will be heading to Marble Mountains in Da Nang.
So, Marble Mountains is a cluster of 5 marble mounts which symbolize for 5 elements: Water (Thuy), Wood (Moc), Fire (Hoa), Metal (Kim), Earth (Tho). This spot is well known for its Buddist temples, sanctuaries, grottoes and caves. On arriving, we then walk up stairs and visit big 7-storey Buddist Pagoda. Follwing is another visit to Linh Ung Pagoda complex where there is big Buddha statue. Next, we keep wandering to explore Heaven gate at Van Thong cave. From this high up, we can grab panoramic view of Non Nuoc beach and Cham island in a distance. What a beautiful spot!
Afterwards, we then walk down and visit the most beautiful cave of Huyen Khong. Especially, the local people used it as a hiding place and a hospital for wounded soldiers in the war. The cave is just brilliant with all temples inside mixing up with incense, smoke creating a visionary atmosphere for tourists. Last but not least, we can climb up at river watching tower for the best view of the marble village.
Eventually, we then walk downstairs and the guide will take you back to your hotel. We will end my son sanctuary and marble mountains tour here.
