Later on, we are then heading off directly to Hue city. Thus, we will pass through rustic villages of Hue and realize the local life of Vietnamese people. Sometimes, you might see some water buffaloes en route and at your request, we can stop in a while for you to photograph this strong animal. Somehow, you also see some farmers working in the field and since then you will know more of our wet rice culture cultivation.
Upon reaching Hue city, we then first sightseeing a typical Buddist pagoda in Hue – Thien Mu Pagoda ( Heavenly Lady Pagoda). Thus, this relic was built on a top of the hill and overlook the Perfume river – the nicest and romantic river in Hue. It is said that many Nguyen Emperors came here in the old times for poetry and relaxation.
Located in the front is a 7-level Phuoc Duyen tower with small pavilions on both sides carved with some poems from Nguyen Emperors. As we move further in, we will see a triple gate with some standing gate keepers and then Dai Hung Sanctuary. It is the place where the local people as well as Buddist monks come here to pray daily.
Besides, this 400-year-old spot is a home to many novices and homeless children. Buddist monks had come to collect and raise them up. To end this place, we then go to the back and visit the old car that superior monk used for his self-immolation in Saigon in 1963.
To move on our Da Nang to Hue Tour, we then go to Hue Citadel – a former head quarters of Nguyen Dynasty. Therefore, this 500-hectare complex has 3 walled cities from outside to inside: The Citadel, The Imperial city and The Forbidden city. The Nguyen family had spent 27 years in building it and they completed the construction in 1832. Hence, it became the symbol of royalty from Nguyen as well as a center for living quarters, religious ceremonies and defensive fortress for all royal members. Although the site was heavily damaged in Tet Offensive in 1968 but many buildings and palaces still survived.
As the guide briefly tell you the history, we then stroll around this massive complex and pay a visit to Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Forbidden City, Truong Sanh Palace…So through the story of your tour guide, you will know about the royal life in the ancient times and find out some typical architectures of the buildings here.
