Day 1: Da Nang International Airport Pick up
To commence our Central Vietnam Package Tour from Thailand, we will meet you up at Da Nang International Airport then we will transfer you to your hotel in Hoi An.
Day 2: My Son Sanctuary – Hoi An ancient town
Today, we begin our trip with an hour car drive to My Son Sanctuary – the former holy place of the Cham people.
So, My Son built by the Cham people – one of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. It was built from 7th to 13th century and it has strong Indian influences with all brick towers, temples dating back thousand years ago.
The Cham built My Son Holyland as the place for worship so they could come here to pray for their best wishes and good luck. The site has many groups of temples, divided into many groups of A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H but the main areas are B, C, D. Each group in My Son has the main temple in the middle where in the old days the Cham people worshipped a set of linga and yoni – symbol of fertility while the others played different functions. Especially, you will find out how the Cham people built the temples without using any mortar or concrete to glue together.
So upon coming to My Son, we then wander around and you got a chance to admire the masterpiece of the Cham people. By the way, you will know more of a lost civilisation that ever existed in central Vietnam.
Lately, you can enjoy Cham dance show in the theatre and as you finish, we will transfer you back to Hoi An for lunch.
After lunch, we will sightseeing of Hoi An city. So, we will walk around the town and visit some ancient relics that were built by foreign traders when the town was commercial trading port.
Thus, Hoi An city used to be the trading seaport of South Vietnam with various foreign traders who came here for the goods exchange. By the way, they had set up their living quarters in Hoi An. Therefore, Hoi An’s architecture has a mixture of many cultures across the globe. Although Hoi An undergone months of ups and downs but the old town remain quite intact and unspoilt. In Dec, 1999, Hoi An was listed as World Cultural Heritage of Vietnam.
Therefore, we will wander around and visit a handicraft workshop to know all about textile industry in Hoi An. Next, we will head to 400-year-old Japanese Bridge which is the symbol of Hoi An people. Later on, we will come and pay a visit to Hoi An’s ancient houses that reflect 3 featured architectures: Vietnam, China, Japan. At the same time, you can find out how the local people live and how they encounter the flooding when it happens in this city every year. The next is a Chinese Assembly Hall with strong Chinese influences.
We then end the day trip by a short walk to Hoi An central market where you can taste flavors, fragrance of all groceries sold out here.
As you finish, we will take you back to the hotel and the rest of the day is on your own.
Day 3: Half day Hoi An Boat Tour
As the sun rises, we will continue our Central Vietnam Package Tour from Thailand by taking you to the dock and we will have boat cruise along Hoi An river. So, you can feel how quiet and peaceful the area is! Along the way, you can see many red-roofed little houses on two banks of Thu Bon river, they are reflecting themselves in blue water.
Later, we will stop at the spot where you can do some fishing activities i.e you will sit on a bamboo hut learning how to pull up the fishing net. After you tie up the net, you will paddle round boat (basket boat) coming to the net bottom and open it. You can see how many fishes you can catch.
Our next activity is to join local fishermen on the river and do some hands on experience how to cast the fishing net into the river. As he finishes, you can get on his boat and have it a try. You will definitely have memorable time here.
Keep up on our tour, we are then heading to 7 hectare Cam Thanh Water Coconut Forest. On the way, you may see some fishermen fishing on the river for their daily life. You camera is ready to take some pretty photograph.
As you know, this 7 ha Cam Thanh Nipa Forest used to be the hiding place and revolutionary base for Viet Cong guerillas in the Vietnam war.
On arrival here, you will get on one of the unique round boats in Vietnam (basket boat) and sail inside the jungle forest. Here, the boat rider will instruct you how to run this special boat and by the way, he will teach you how to catch little crabs for fun as well as making some Origami souvenirs from coconut leaves.
Moving on our tour, we go further out and watch some guys performing the spinning of his round boat in the eyes of hundreds of tourists. You will be amazingly attracted by this.
And finally, as you have done it, our guide and driver will take you for lunch and afterwards take you back to the hotel. The end of the day is at your leisure.
Day 4: Ba Na Hills Full Day Tour
Today, we will carry on our trip with visit to Ba Na Hills in Da Nang city – one of Vietnam’s biggest amusement parks, the most famous sight in Da Nang city
Thus, French officials came to relax and enjoyed their holiday in late 19th century due to its pleasant weather and 4 distinguised seasons in one day. Now, it has become a “must see” site for every single traveler coming to Da Nang city, especially for them to come to take world’s record longest cable car as well as admire Golden Bridge well – know worldwide.
At arriving here, we then take cable car to reach to Golden Bridge, admiring masterpiece of human while enjoy fresh air and spectacular views of forest.
Furthermore, we will head up to the summit of Ba Na Hills where you another world appears. So, there are many things for you to enjoy such as Fantasy park, Wax museum, outdoor performance, Catholic church, Buddist temples ect. You will harmonize yourself in an atmospheric setting that you have not seen before.
Later on, you can some lunch before having some free time looking around and taking more pictures. Lastly, our guide will come and tak you back to the car and then we head back to our hotel.
Day 5: Hue City Full Day Tour
We will start off the day of our trip with a 3-hour car drive north of Hoi An coming and visiting Hue city – the ancient capital city of Vietnam in Nguyen Dynasty.
Hence, Hue is a little city well known for its Citadel, Perfume river, Buddist Pagodas and Emperors’ Mausoleums. It is a relaxing green city which is small enough to be interesting.
On the way coming here, we will take Hai Van Pass (Cloudy Pass) with curved turns and fascinating landscapes of the rocky mountain on one side and Da Nang bay on the other side. As we go down, we will make another stop at near Lang Co town for you to have panoramic view of Lang Co village.
Reaching to Hue, we firstly sightseeing Hue Citadel. Thus, this huge complex is a city within cities with 3 circle walls: Hue Citadel, Hue Imperial, Hue Forbidden city. Emperors Gia Long and Minh Mang ordered the construction in 1805 and finished in 1832. Though the wars mostly devastated The Citadel in 1947 and 1968 but many buildings and palaces still survived.
Therefore, we will meander around and visit this impressive complex such as Noon Gate, Thai Hoa Palace, Royal Theatre, Queen Mother’s House, Forbidden city. After stories of your guide, you will know more of royal life in the past and witness Vietnamese people’s efforts in restoring the damages.
Also, you can sample some of Hue’s royal food by going to one of typial restaurants. Here, you can try pancake, spring rolls or Hue beef noodles ect.
Furthermore, we will have car transfer to Thien Mu Pagoda (one of oldest pagodas in Hue) after lunch. Located on a small hill overlooking the Perfume river, the pagoda was ideal spot for Nguyen Emperors to come and composed some poetry. Today, it is home to Buddist monks and sacred place for Hue Buddist followers.
And lastly, we are off to one of royal tombs – Tu Duc Tomb. So, this tomb is one of the most beautiful and romantic ones in Hue built by Emperor Tu Duc in 1867. In the old times, Tu Duc Emperor came here to relax as well as wrote some poems.
Accordingly, the tomb has 2 separate parts: the temples and the burial. There are some small hills, lakes, temples, pavillions making his final resting a remarkably picturesque spot.
