Phong Nha Cave Quang Binh

As we know, Phong Nha-Ke Bang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quang Binh Province, north-central Vietnam, and is more than a national park. It is Asia’s oldest major karst structure, formed 464 million years ago as a result of earth crust evolution.

Thus, Phong Nha National Park is home to a 2,000-square-kilometer limestone zone as well as a 70-kilometer-long grotto and cave system. The Hang Son Doong Cave, the world’s largest cave, is located within the park. Its largest chamber is more than five kilometers long.

Besides, Phong Nha Ke Bang Park, which is largely covered in tropical rain forest, is one of the Indo-most Pacific’s important eco-regions. Underground rivers, dry caverns, suspended caves, and terraced caves are among the numerous noteworthy geomorphic features. Many endangered animal species, including as black bears, tigers, and elephants, still roam the area.

To help you explore Phong Nha and Paradise cave tour, Premium Travel Vietnam organize Phong Nha Caves Tour from Dong Hoi.

Kick off the trip

To start our journey, in the morning we will come and meet you up at the hotel in Dong hoi and we commence our Phong Nha Caves Tour from Dong Hoi. We will be then heading to Phong Nha National Park. On the way, we are driving through green paddy fields, rustic villages of the town. These villages give you a memory of your childhood as you can see some cows, buffaloes and farmers working in the field. Along with that are some pretty hills and even Ho Chi Minh Trail that was well known in the war.

Visiting Phong Nha Cave

Reaching Phong Nha Park, we are going to embark on boat for cruise ship on the Son river in Phong Nha. Thus, Phong Nha Ke Bang Park has a total of more than 300 caves and is known as the Kingdom of Cave in Vietnam. Moreover, Phong Nha National Park is not only famous for its abundant fauna and flora system, but it also proves the existance of the Cham people in the past. Besides, one of the hills here was also the revolutionary base of Emperor Ham Nghi against the French invasion.

So far in Phong Nha, there are more than 170 caves that have been discovered by some archeologists from the British Caving Association. They evaluate that Phong Nha has 7 best things in the world: the longest water cave; the highest and widest cave mouth; the widest and most beautiful sand and rock bank; the most beautiful underground lake; the most magnificent and miraculous stalactite; the country’s longest underground river (around 13,969 m);  and the nicest and widest dry cave.

Together with marvelous cave system, some rivers of Trooc, Chay, Son in Phong Nha Park areas own their blue emerald water running through rocky mountains creating such a watery painting landscape that attracts millions of visitors yearly.

Sail along the Son river

a group of people on a boat in the water

We then sail along the Son river for you to admire amazing scenery of the area. At arriving in the cave, we will go further in and from here another world appears in front of us. From here, there is thousands of stalactites and stalagmites in different figures and shapes growing up or going down with all beautiful colors. It seems you are lost in a paradise. Sometimes, we feel the birb sound chirping on the rock ceiling or some drops of water dripping down on us. After exploring a part of the longest underground river, we will then go back.

Visit Tien Son Cave

Following our Phong Nha Caves Tour from Dong Hoi is a short walk on fine sand dunes and from here you also see more the creation of the nature. Next, we will go back out and then continue our trip to visit Tien Son cave.

Thus, Tien Son cave lies 200m high from Phong Nha cave. Unlike Phong Nha wet cave, Tien Son is a dry cave and it is considered as Fairy Cave Palace. Accordingly, the cave was found in 1935 and has a total length of 980,6 m. To reach the cave, we have to climb up lots of stairs with a winding pathway. Nevertheless, you can see pretty villages with the Son river from up high. At arriving, we keep walking along some meandering passage ways to discover Tien Son cave. All stalactites hanging down and stalagmites growing up seem like curtains of royal palaces for the Emperor in the old days.
