Huyen Khong Cave at Marble Mountains Da Nang

Da Nang is well known for its Buddist temples, Linh Ung Pagoda, Ba Na Hills and Cham Sculpture museum. At arriving at Marble Mountains, we then visit a marble carving factory (optional) before the lift takes us up to the summit of Water Mountain. From here, we will wander around and visit 7-storey pagoda, Linh Ung Temple, Beach watch tower and then keep going to sightseeing the most beautiful cave or former hospital of the local soldiers or people in the war. So, this cave is really fantastic will all little shrines inside and Buddist statues. Besides, in some sunny days, the sunlight that mixing up with incense making the cave so illusory.

Finishing Huyen Khong cave, we will go down and the car and tour guide will take you to Hoi An.

Hoi An Ancient Town

Hence, Hoi An was a trading seaport of Vietnam in the old days, especially in the 16th and 17th century with many foreign traders who came and did commerce with the local people. Today, Hoi An has strong Chinese and Japanese influences with all houses, temples, pagodas ect.

Upon reaching Hoi An, we will stroll around this lovely charming city and sightseeing a Chinese Assembly Hall. So, the temple built by Chinese community for them to come and pray to their ancestors. It also played a communal house and meeting place to share all experience of their trading job in the old times. Today, it attracts lots of visitors who come and make their best wishes.

Next, we move onto an ancient house in Hoi An. Thus, the house used to be the trading shop and nowadays it is a private house with 3 typical Oriental architectures: Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese. Accordingly, the house in Hoi An is divided with 3 separate apartments: the rear for collecting the goods, the middle as open courtyard and the front for sale. Today, the whole family is still living here and you can talk to owner to know more about their daily life.

Furthermore, we are heading to Hoi An’s symbol – Japanese Bridge. So, the bridge built by the Japanese with a hope that they could survive from floodings in the old times. The bridge has featured Japanese architecture and has been restored many times by carpenters. On both sides of the bridge are statues of dogs and monkeys and to the side of it is a pagoda dedicated to Bac De Tran Vo God (god of water). You can get closer and the guide will tell you more of history of the famous bridge in Hoi An.

Upon finishing Hoi An city tour, you can some free time exploring Hoi An on your own or taste some of Hoi An’s specialties such as Cao Lao, My Quang, Wonton, White Rose dimsum ect in a local restaurant.
