Built in 1909 by Cantonese community from China, the pagoda is a tourist landmark of the city. Also, it becomes a sacred place for the local people who practice Buddism and Taoism that widely spread over the city. The pagoda has many rooms which are dedicated to different gods and deities such as Lord of Hell, Goddesses of Health and Fertility ect.
To move on our Shore Excursions Ho Chi Minh city, our guide and driver then transfer you to visit the Notre Dam Cathedral and the old post office. Thus, Notre Dam Cathedral is a manificient building in Saigon center as well as a religious conducting place for Catholic people. Built in 1880 by the French, they established this one for them to practice religious services during their occupation of Cochinchina and Saigon.
On arrival, you will walk around and take beautiful pictures of this landmark. Especially, you can move inside and admire the typical architecture of neo-Romanesque style influences. Finish up this spot, we then move to sightseeing Old Saigon Post Office nearby.
Established in 1886, this special former Saigon Post Office was a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and French architectures, fascinating tourists not only its exterior but also its interior designs. Visiting this remarkable tourist spot, tourists seem to be dragged back to the 20th century thanks to its original ornate furnishings outside, amazing pattern tiled floor and massive high ceilings as well as numerous wickets inside. Especially, inside the office is more elegant designs with phone booths with colors that remain unchanged since the old times.
To continue our trip, we then head up to War Remnants Museum. This historic spot gives you more about overall ideas of the Vietnam war that ever happened in this country. Looking at some of the pictures, you can calm down yourself, sharing your emotion, your feeling, your pain with Vietnamese people in the revolution to protect and for the freedom of the country.
Later on, we will enjoy a rickshaw ride around some main streets of Saigon and feel the hustle and bustle of the city. This ride is a great fun for you being the first time on our traditional means of transport.
Once in a while, you can take a rest in a local restaurant, enjoy some local food of Saigon or “Pho” or just have a beer to cool off yourself.
In the afternoon, we will transfer you to visit bustling China town. When you are here, you can find all local produce for sale here. You can also have a chance to interact with the local people to find out how they live and work for their life.
Finishing up the day, we are heading to Thien Hau Temple (Lady of the Sea) which is built by the Chinese people from Quang Chau province in 1760. This temple is dedicated to Thien Hau Holy Mother who is believed to rescue ships and fishermen in stormy seas when flying on a mat. During the history, lots of Chinese moved down by boats to Southeast Asian countries to earn for a living, and they reached safely. In their thoughts, there was Thien Hau Goddess who appeared to save them. That’s why many people today come here to pray for safety and see the featured Chinese ancient architectures.
